Derby Gill renews its look with a new veranda: let’s discover it together!

It has always been one of the most popular restaurants not only in Monza, but in all of Brianza, where the skill of Chef Fabio Silva in the kitchen counteracts the kindness, professionalism and desire to serve of Roberto Brioschi, Restaurant Manager, and Antonio Renzulli, Maître d’Hôtel. The Derby Grill has decided to restyle with the opening of a new veranda, which will be inaugurated on Saturday 8th September during a great event: the 60th anniversary of Hotel de the Ville, the 4-star luxury hotel that hosts it.

Monza’s new winter garden!

We have always wanted to offer our clients an outdoor space that can be used all year round. The new veranda will be just that: air conditioned and climatised, with great doors and windows that allow the guests to enjoy the wonderful view and, in good weather, can be opened to allow access to the outdoor area, equipped with tables and shades.

Our idea is to create a real winter garden, a reference point for all those who, like us, are convinced that sophisticated and refined dishes should be served in a matching location.

In the new Veranda you will breathe a “colonial” air. The environment will be furnished with decorations in bamboo, comfortable seats by Henryot & Cie, supplier of the most exclusive hotels in the world, and tables with themed pedestals.

That’s not all: part of the veranda will be built opposite the Derby Bar adjacent to the restaurant, and will be furnished with ceiling fans, evergreen plants and rattan and leather chairs, where you can relax while enjoying your favourite cocktail or taste the refined finger food of Chef Silva.

On the walls of the restaurant we find the frescoes with equestrian motives that remind of the Derby Cross Country, the horse race that used to take place in the Park of Monza in the 19th century. On the other hand, in the veranda, we can find paintings by artist Giovanni Bressana, which draw inspiration from the luxurious vegetation outdoors. This is the icing on the cake for a refined, relaxing and out-of-this-world location, with an ancient elegance that never goes out of style.

New veranda: how, where and when?

The new setting will be inaugurated with all the honours it deserves on Saturday, September 8th, during a dinner party celebrating the 60 years of Hotel de la Ville. From 19:00 to 24:00 guests can taste the finger food of Chef Fabio Silva and enjoy cocktails and aperitifs mixed by Carlos, the bartender of the Derby Bar, while listening to the DJ set in the background.

Anyone who will come to visit us at the Derby Grill and at the Derby Bar will be able to enjoy the veranda, which will follow the opening and closing hours of the bar and restaurant:

  • The Derby Grill, closed Sundays, is open for lunch from Monday to Friday and dinner Monday through Saturday.
  • The Derby Bar is open daily from 7:00 to 24:00.
